Home to Bentonville

I try to schedule regular trips home to Bentonville, about every three weeks. If I didn't force myself to write them out on the calendar like this, I'd be home every weekend.

Here's what I'm shooting for:
January 31
February 7
February 21
March 14
March 21-29 (Spring Break)
April 25

Hopefully some of my college buddies will end up in town some of the same weekends. My mom and I are still trying to finalize the Spring Break plans, so technically that week I won't actually be HOME. Oh, and by finalize, I mean realize. We have no idea.

Cheer Season

As a major part in the audition process for becoming a college cheerleader, high school cheerleaders must submit a try-out videos to their prospective colleges. These cheerleaders are good at what they do, and they look for a camera man who is good at what he does, too. They want their video to look good, professional, and to be shot at their pace.

Well, this year will be my third year to be shooting these try-out videos, and I'm carving it down to a science. My favorite thing about this year is the camera I'm going to be shooting with, the Canon XH-A1.

This will be the first High-Definition video camera that I've been fortunate enough to operate. In years past, I have had the opportunity to borrow video gear from friends, but this year, being away from Bentonville, I am on my own and decided to rent my camera from Illinois.

I am excited about doing a video shoot, since I haven't had one in a while, but I'm especially excited about this camera. Hopefully I'll do a post about what it feels like to be in High-Definition.

I love eBay, I get such a rush from selling stuff, buying stuff, selling that stuff, buying something new, and then selling it. It's so awesome.)) sigh... Oh, right, the description:

I've been a proud mac user for several years now, using this iSight
with my Powerbook for iChat. I just bought a new MacBook, which has
the iSight built-in, leaving my iSight homeless.

I've seen a few on eBay lately, but none of them are going to hold a
candle to this one. I've got pretty much everything it came with, all
with the original packaging, all in great shape. I try not to make a
habit out of flushing money down the toilet, so when I buy something,
I take care it. This camera, with all the accessories, has got to be
the best looking one I've seen on here in a couple of weeks.

Apple iSight Camera
Original Firewire Cable
Original Laptop Screen Mount
Original Tabletop Mount
Original Magnet Mount
Original Cable Caps
Original Camera Tube Case
All original paperwork

The glass looks fantastic. The device works, every time, on the first
try. This camera just works, and it works well.

want to see.

After the auction ends, if you can get me the payment quick, I'll ship
it quick. USPS usually drops by around 2pm. This auction should end
around 4pm Monday (in this timezone), meaning I'll ship the very next
day.

Thank you for looking. I hope I've answered everything for you.
PLEASE email me with any questions. I love emails.

eBay: Canon Elan7ne

I am a Mass Media college student attending Henderson State University
in Arkansas. I took a film photography class last semester that
required me to purchase a camera body. I took the class pretty
seriously and got this Canon Elan7ne. It was awesome. Throughout the
semester I only got to shoot about 9 rolls with it, but it performed
like a champ.

I am no longer in the class, leaving me without access to a darkroom.
Without a need for this body, I'm selling it. I can't really say that
it's NEW, but it might as well be. It's in excellent condition. I've
even got the packaging, so when it arrives, you'll think you're
getting a brand new camera.

I bought this camera for the "Eye Control" feature. I thought it
might be a gimmick but wanted to try it out. It was no gimmick. I
don't have this feature on my digital body, and now that I'm getting
rid of this one, I really miss it. Basically, instead of having
photos that are auto-focused to the wrong thing (the trees instead of
the faces, the fans instead of the football players), where you look
is what you focus. The camera senses your eye, detects which part of
the viewfinder you're looking at, and instantly focuses there. It's
insane.

I've seen a few of the Canon Elan7's on here, but not many of the
Elan7NE's, like mine. The NE's are the only ones with the eye
detection. What really sets my camera body apart though is the
battery grip. I bought the grip for mine for two reasons: ability to
easily switch to vertical grip, and the battery capacity. These film
bodies all use the goofiest batteries, that can be a pain to replace.
With this grip, the grip holds four AA batteries, powering the camera
for a LONG time. I never had to change the batteries. (Not saying
much, since I only shot 9 rolls, but still)

I used my Canon lenses with this body, all of which mounted and auto-
focused just fine. I typically shoot a Canon Rebel XTi.

This camera has a pop-up flash, that works, but I never really used
it. I only shot natural lighting (what the class called for).

including detail shots not included on this auction page:

I take eBay pretty seriously, and will ship your camera in less than
24hrs of the auction ending. This auction will end Monday night
around 5pm my time, too late for USPS. I will ship it Tuesday if you
can get the payment to me before lunch. I hope you like the free
shipping, I will be shipping it USPS Priority Mail, which should be
pretty dang fast for you.

I hope I've mentioned everything. I probably haven't though. If you
can come up with ANYTHING you want answered, please email me and ask.
I love emails, and would reply pretty fast.

Thank you very much, and have a fantastic day!

eleven88: Star City

When we venture outside the Greenhouse walls, we call ourselves "eleven88", after Psalms 118:8. The verse is about making being in the center of God's will, and placing trust in him, not in man. This is the very center verse of the Bible, and it speaks of being in the center of God's will. That was enough for us.

I joined the band at the beginning of the semester in the role of "drummer", LOL, and have been having a blast onboard their roller coaster ever since.

This weekend, Taylor booked us for a youth conference in Star City, AR. (just about two hours, and just about dew East)

Similar to a Bentonville DNOW, they had over 300 people coming, and needed a worship band. Their expectations were high, meaning last week was nothing but practices every day.

We rented a U-Haul and hit the road at 9am Saturday morning. The conference was a huge success, and we considered it a privilege to be a part of such an experience. The photo above is of all of us, plus two extras, about to head back to Arkadelphia that night. The conference didn't end until almost ten, and an insano-fast load out got us on the road by 10:30pm.

After the invitation, to close out the conference we played "Party", by Charlie Hall for the kids on their way out. They went absolutely nuts. They started jumping around and refused to leave, so we just kept playing. The conference was a blast, the church treated us with more respect than we deserved, and I can't wait for next time.
