eleven88: Live in Concert

I joined a band here in Arkadelphia, named eleven88. Well, when I joined it, they really didn't have a name. We all just enjoyed playing praise and worship music, so we didn't need one. Then somebody was actually crazy enough to listened to us. Then someone was actually crazy enough to give us a gig. Then someone needed to make up a name for our band. Then I made up a name for our band:

eleven88

If you turn in your bibles to the very middle verse, the very center of God's word, it is Psalm 118:8. The verse states to not place our trust in man, but to wholly lean on Jesus, because man will fail us every time. I love it. We just modded the numbers "one eighteen, eight" to be "eleven eighty eight". Works pretty good. Anyway, I have no idea what we're doing playing shows now, but, czech out that sweet poster they made up for this one. Pretty slick. I'm the brown shirt 12-year-old in the back.

uFeature: BLAST! Tiger Tunes 2008

Squeezing in barely for one more uFeature for the weekend, is the OBU Band Tiger Tunes performance. wow. If the band was allowed to win the competition, there would have been NO COMPETITION. I was thrilled. (oh my) The band performed their BLAST! version of Michael Jackson's Thriller. It knocked my socks off, and right into the isle. A few baritones at Forte is about all it takes to get me excited. If you don't look at any of the other uFeatures from this weekend, look at this one. They really took the show. I only wish that I had done a better recording job. This fun-run-and-gun style that I've developed has it's bonuses, but it also has major drawbacks. Hopefully it got the job done well enough for you to get a glimpse at this impressive performance of... THRILLER!

uFeature: 2008 OBU Halftime Show

Ouachita Baptist's marching band is good. Real good. The OBU Band played three songs, 2 "Blood, Sweat & Tears" and one "Michael Jackson". All three were toe-tapping classics, which got the crowd really into their show. I don't care if my opinions are a little skewed or not, that is one SLICK band they've got over there. They're halftime show this year is an awesome display of one reason why I love them so much. More than anything else, the main thing I like to see in a halftime show is entertainment. The visiting band had an impressive, near-DCI level show. However, their music consisted of crazy spanish marches and junk that nobody had ever heard of. I'd take a toe-tappin' show over a Spanish DCI show just about any day. Especially since I happen to be familiar with one of their Thriller dancer girls... Maybe I'm biased, do I care? no.

uFeature: OBU Tiger Tunes 2008 Winners

Tiger Tunes was this weekend, over at OBU. You can read more about that in my OBU Homecoming Weekend post. The winners this year were the Kappa Chi men, performing as "Coal Miners". I shot the show, in typical CameronMagee fun-run-and-gun fashion. What I mean is, this is not exactly HD that we're dealing with here. I try and keep my Canon SD750 Point-and-Shoot on my hip most of the time, and so this got shot from our seats in the balcony, handheld. enjoy!

YouTube allows anyone to build a "Channel" of their own, on YouTube.com. As soon as you upload your first video, they ask you to build one. They even give you a slick website name of your own, like http://www.YouTube.com/CameronMagee. Not too shabby in my opinion, their website+myname. Sometimes a free URL means it's going to be something like... http://www.YouTube.com/users/nopro/10-/%20/Cameron%20-Magee/479830/389&^$99LL/CameronMagee. So, I'm very grateful that they gave me a pretty good one.

You can go on there and see every video I've ever uploaded to YouTube, right from that page. I also posted a link to it on my personal website, www.CameronMagee.com.

I've been uploading like crazy this weekend, so there is a lot of new material. Every time I upload a video I will do a specific blog post for that video, so there will be a flood of those on here for the next few days. enjoy!
